Engineering professor Yiming Deng was placed on administrative leave Thursday, Sept. 30 due to reports of misconduct.

In a letter addressed to students of ECE 366, introduction to signal processing, College of Engineering chair John Papapolymerou announced the leave. He linked resources for students such as the Center of Survivors, Counseling and Psychiatric Services and the University Ombudsperson.

"The decision to share information about inappropriate behavior may be difficult," Papapolymerou said in the email. "If you would like to discuss options for sharing information in a confidential manner or need other supportive services such as counseling, the following resources are available to you."

Deputy spokesperson Dan Olsen said the reports are being reviewed thoroughly.

"Personnel matters are often complex and warrant a comprehensive review of all of the facts and we are committed to doing just that," Olsen said. "But I'm unable to comment any further on personnel matters."
