The annual Izzone Campout is set to return to Munn Field on Oct. 15 after a short hiatus last year due to COVID-19.

This is set to be one of the biggest campouts in history as The Izzone set a new record for memberships as they sold all 5,000 memberships.

This will be the first campout to be back outdoors since 2018 after 2019's campout was moved inside the Breslin Center due to rain and flooding on Munn field.

Registration will take place at the Breslin Center’s Gilbert Pavilion on Oct. 14 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 2-5 p.m. and on Oct. 15 from 12-4 p.m.

In order to receive their Izzone points, students must register during these times and receive a wristband. However, returning members who are not able to attend may submit an excuse form for approval in order to still get access to Izzone tickets.

Then at 3 p.m., students can begin setting up their campsites and watch an open practice at the Breslin Center. Masks are not required at the campout but must be worn indoors for registration and the open practice at the Breslin Center.

Students must bring all supplies, as tents and sleeping bags will not be provided. A 10 foot by 10 foot campsite will be allotted to each group which can hold up to four people.

At 6 p.m, the campout and check-ins will officially begin. In order to receive their two points, Izzone members must be present for check-ins which will occur throughout the night and will be announced ahead of time. Students must then return to their campsites and present their MSU IDs to Izzone Section Leaders to be marked present.

Throughout the night there will be games and giveaways along with free food and drink. Then at 10 p.m. the star of the show, Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo and the 2021-22 men’s basketball team will arrive to celebrate the upcoming season with the students.

After the campout, Izzone members will be able to buy tickets for fall semester games starting Oct. 19 for $10 per game.

The Spartans will officially welcome fans back to the Breslin on Oct. 27 for an exhibition game against Ferris State and will open the regular season at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 9 against Kansas for the Champions Classic.
