Due to staff and supply shortages, MSU Culinary Services are changing dining hall operation hours.
According to the Eat at State website, MSU Culinary Services are continuing to experience staff shortages like many other schools and universities across the country.
“Many businesses in the local area and around the country are hiring. We are all competing for the same available talent,” the website states.
The following changes go into effect Sept. 24.
All residential dining halls will be closed to the public until further notice. Anyone entering a dining hall must have an MSU issued ID.
Additionally, Heritage Commons at Landon and The Vista at Shaw are reducing hours.

7 to 10:30 a.m. (continental breakfast)
10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (lunch)
2 to 3:30 p.m. (limited menu)
Saturday - Sunday
The Vista at Shaw
Monday - Friday
7 to 10:30 a.m. (breakfast)
10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (lunch)
2 to 3:30 p.m. (limited menu)

“Students living in West Circle halls like Landon can visit Brody Square as their alternative dining location, and students living in Shaw can visit The Gallery at Snyder/Phillips as their alternative dining location,” according to the Eat at State website.
Starbucks locations at 1855 Place and Wells Hall will also be reducing hours of operation.

According to Eat at State, Sparty’s mini-markets that did not open in the fall will remain closed, and mobile ordering at the following locations will have a delayed start:
MSU Culinary Services said its human resources team is working as quickly as possible to recruit and hire team members for the University’s dining facilities.
“They remain dedicated to improving staffing levels,” the Eat at State website said. “While working through the labor challenges, team members from all over the Division of Residential and Hospitality Services are stepping in and volunteering in the dining operations to ensure students are fed.”
