Michigan State University is providing students returning to East Lansing with Spartan Safety Kits comprised of personal protective equipment with health and safety information.

The kits contain two cloth face masks, one applique, hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes and a tape measure. In addition, three decorative patches, one copy of the MSU Community Compact and a pamphlet of health guidelines are included to inform students of best practices.

Students living in residence halls will receive their Spartan Safety Kits during check-in. The kits have also been passed out to different apartment complexes to be picked up during move in.

Undergraduate and graduate students living off-campus that did not receive the kit from their landlords can pick one up at the MSU Union Courtyard from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30 and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31 through Thursday, Sept. 3, according to the student life website

The courtyard is between the East and South entrances of the building and the Human Ecology Building.

Students are required to provide student identification and sign for their kits upon pickup.

This article has been updated to reflect the changes to the location where kits can be picked up.
