The Michigan House of Representatives voted on Tuesday to extend Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's State of Emergency declaration to April 30.

Whitmer declared the State of Emergency on March 10 in an attempt to combat the COVID-19 outbreak and meant for it to expire on April 7, but the vote extended the emergency order by 23 days.

The Senate had initially shot down Whitmer's proposed amendment to extend the State of Emergency by 70 days.
