Former MSU wide receiver Andre Rison announced on The Drive with Jack Monday evening his son, freshman wide receiver Hunter Rison, will transfer from MSU.

"He wants to play more," Andre said on the radio program. "He feels he's just as good as the guys playing in front of him."

Hunter leaves a deep Spartan wide receiver core, which includes junior Felton Davis III, redshirt sophomore Darrell Stewart Jr. and freshman Cody White.

The Ann Arbor native brought in 19 receptions for 224 receiving yards in 12 games in the 2017 campaign.

Hunter is the second MSU football player to transfer this offseason, with the first being redshirt freshman quarterback Messiah deWeaver.
