Cassius Peat is not returning to MSU.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Peat said MSU coaches told him he should not come back.

“I did nothing wrong," Peat told the Free Press. "I was admitted to get back in and everything. I’ve been trying to bite my lip about it, but I just feel like I have to put that out there. … They didn’t even give me a reason.”

Peat has not responded to messages left by The State News.

The Free Press reported Peat is considering Pac-12 schools, along with other Big Ten schools. The defensive lineman also plans to take visits to different schools.

News broke March 2 Peat was headed back to MSU after originally departing. According to Scout.com, Peat was the No. 1 defensive end prospect in Arizona coming out of high school.

Peat redshirted his freshman season for the Spartans in 2015. While he was with the team during the spring in 2016, head coach Mark Dantonio granted Peat his release from his scholarship in August 2016.
