Life in Color coming to Lansing

January 13, 2016

"The World’s Largest Paint Party" is coming to East Lansing, and as MSU students say, “it’s about to be lit.”

The event, formerly the popular Dayglow but now known as Life In Color, attracts students who will be pelted with paint while jamming out to electronic dance music.

The artist headliners for the 2016 Kingdom Tour are Steve Aoki, Vic Mensa, NGHTMRE and Reid Stefan.

The concert will be held at the Lansing Center, located at 333 East Michigan Avenue in Lansing, on Jan. 23. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. The show begins at 7:45  p.m. and ends at 12:45 a.m.

According to the Life In Color website, general admission tickets for the first tier are already sold out.

Ticket prices range from $28 to $75. There are also specialized tickets available such as the “Express Entry” and “LIC Survivor” tickets. These tickets are more expensive than the general admission tickets and include express entry, Life in Color t-shirts, bottles of paint, towels and sunglasses. There are no refunds or exchanges on tickets.

There will be a detail security check before patrons will be admitted into the concert. No bags, purses, or backpacks of any kind will be allowed. There will also not be a coat check.

There are several MSU students who are Life in Color student ambassadors. As student ambassadors, these students post updates about ticket sales and concert information to their social media accounts.

One such ambassador is media and information freshman Sam Zahrai.

“I heard about Life in Color from my friends who are also social media ambassadors," Zahrai said. "I wanted to attend because I think Steve Aoki is awesome and a concert where they throw color at you seems really fun."
