Weekend roundup: Sept. 21-23

It is almost the weekend. Classes are ending, and students are ready to unwind. Here is a roundup of events to attend during the weekend respite.

Mutemath to perform at The Loft
Grammy Award-nominated band Mutemath will be coming to The Loft, 414 E. Michigan Ave., on Saturday. Paper Route also will be performing.

Meridian Heritage Festival
The Meridian Township Parks and Recreation will present the Meridian Heritage Festival, along with the Friends of Historic Meridian and the Nokomis Learning Center.
The festival will feature Native American food and entertainment and will celebrate the cultural history of the community.
The event will be held on Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

East Lansing Film Society Film Series presents “Monsieur Lazhar”
Wells Hall will hold a special showing of the Academy Award-nominated film “Monsieur Lazhar” all weekend.
The movie will be shown at 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

So You Think You Think You Can Line Dance?
The International Center will host a special hoedown, entitled: So You Think You Can Line Dance?
The hoedown will have both square dancing and free line dancing lessons from 9 p.m. to midnight on Sept. 21.

A Night Under the Stars
The MSU Observatory will hold free public observing nights from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 22.
Astronomers also will be on hand to answer any questions.
