Broad College of Business receives $5 million gift for business transformation center

December 21, 2011

MSU’s Broad College of Business has received a $5 million gift from the Lansing-based Demmer Corporation to establish the John and Marnie Demmer Center for Business Transformation.

The center is slated to provide additional consulting, advisory and educational services from MSU faculty members and student teams to state business owners, according to an MSU release.

Through the center, business leaders are slated to be able to gain information about business process improvement and quality processes and metrics.

“We had been using consultants help from all over the country assisting us in our business transformation,” Demmer Corp. CEO Bill Demmer said in the release. “As our relationship with the MSU Broad College of Business grew we found that everything we needed was right in our own back yard. We are so pleased to give back and participate in marshaling the tremendous resources of MSU to transform other Michigan businesses.”

The Demmer Corporation is an engineering and manufacturing company which serves companies in the defense, aerospace, automotive, energy and transportation fields. It has several facilities throughout mid-Michigan.

Previous gifts from the Demmer family to MSU have created the John and Marnie Demmer Shooting Sports Education and Training Center and the Demmer Family Hall of History in the Skandalaris Football Center, according to the release.
