Student robbed in University Village, police looking for male suspect

A 20-year-old female MSU student reported a robbery at 2:30 a.m. Friday in University Village near Kalamazoo Street, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said in a statement.

The student said she was entering her building when a man came up behind her and forcibly stole her wristlet, containing a student ID, $100 in cash and a driver’s license.

The student was not injured, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 20 years old with an average build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black shirt with a design and writing on the front, and a blue baseball hat worn backward.
