McCallie leads Under-20 team to first place

Mexico City — On Saturday, the United States Under-20 Women's Basketball Team (5-0) took home the gold medal in the tournament under the leadership of MSU women's basketball head coach Joanne P. McCallie.

The team faced Brazil in the title game; both teams were undefeated going into the contest. After trailing 13-8 in the first quarter, the U.S. team finished the game with a final score of 96-54.

MSU senior Victoria Lucas-Perry scored seven points and had six rebounds in the final game. The American team was lead in scoring by Wisconsin's Jolene Anderson, who had 17 points.
