With her red dreadlocks and unique compilation of clothing and accessories, jazz studies junior Lulu Fall struts Spartan land in style. The D.C. native comes up with outfits by pairing her ideas with pop culture.
"I just infused my style with styles I saw on TV," Fall said.
Some of Fall's favorite stores are H & M, LVL X, Urban Outfitters and thrift stores. She also shops online at www.eBay.com and www.dELiA*s.com.
To start exploring your own style, Fall suggests first digging through your own wardrobe.
"Go in your closet, look at all the clothes you think won't match, and put them together," Fall said. She suggests linking clashing clothes with an accessory that can tie it all together, such as earrings or a belt.
Fall's infatuation with fashion began in junior high. Since then, she has mixed and matched her wardrobe to create outfits that reveal her personality and fervor for fashion.
During her senior year of high school, Fall decided she wanted to ditch her typical straight hair and get dreadlocks. Since then, she has maintained them, and even dyed them red.
Strut Fall's casual style while dining out, hanging out with the girls or going to class in the spring.
She likes to pair a brown studded waist belt from a thrift store with fitted white Express jeans. Add a pair of light green pumps found at a thrift store for some color.
For accessorizing, put on some large brown hoop earrings. Fall got hers from Urban Outfitters.
Flaunt this semi-formal look on a date, at a club or for a special occasion.
