Brown not selected for USA b-ball team

MSU junior guard Shannon Brown did not make the cut for the 12-man roster for the Men's USA Basketball under-21 team.

Brown, Oklahoma St. guard JamesOn Curry, Connecticut forward Josh Boone and Kansas center C.J. Giles were not chosen to participate in the 2005 USA under-21 World Championships. The team was trimmed from 20 players to 16 during the weekend, and there will be another cut from 16 to 12 players. The 12 selections will go to Argentina to play in the under-21 World Championship.

Players left on the team are Arkansas guard Ronnie Brewer, Oregon guard Aaron Brooks, Temple guard Mardy Collins, Louisiana St. forward Glen Davis, Nevada forward Nick Fazekas, Wake Forest guard Justin Gray, Villanova guard Allan Ray, Syracuse forward Terrence Roberts, Charlotte forward Curtis Withers, Memphis guard Darius Washington Jr., Boston College forward Jared Dudley, Connecticut forward Rudy Gay, Duke guard J. J. Redick, Oklahoma forward Taj Gray, Kentucky guard Rajon Rondo and Connecticut guard Marcus Williams.
