Team, media names Anderson team MVP

The MSU men's basketball team announced its award winners at its Basketball Bust on Monday.

Senior swingman Alan Anderson was named the team's Most Valuable Player by both the team and the media.

Along with senior guard Kelvin Torbert, Anderson also was awarded the John E. Benington Best Defensive Player Award. This is the second time the duo shared the award, the other coming in their freshman season. Torbert has won the award all four years at MSU.

Senior guard Chris Hill and sophomore center Drew Naymick were named the Scholar-Athletes of the Year, and junior guard Maurice Ager was named the Most Improved Player.

Senior guard Tim Bograkos was awarded the Unsung Player Award and the Antonio Smith Guts and Glue Award.

Sophomore forward Delco Rowley picked up the Stephen G. Scofes Inspirational Player Award and junior center Paul Davis earned the Chairman of the Boards Award, presented to the team's leading rebounder.
