The MSU softball team announced its 2005 schedule, with highlights being a five-team season opening tournament Feb. 18-20 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and the home opener March 24 against Central Michigan.

The Spartans, the 2004 Big Ten Tournament Champions, open conference play April 1 at Indiana and compete in a May 1 doubleheader in Ann Arbor against Michigan.

The team will spend spring break in Florida, playing Central Florida and at least four other games that have yet to be announced.

MSU will host 11 games at Old College Field this season, the last being May 8 in a doubleheader against Miami.

MSU went 36-26 last season.
