The softball team added sophomore hurler Stephanie Christner to next years roster.
Christner played last year for Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, earning All-Region XI honors. She had a 0.61 ERA as a freshman, striking out 88 batters and allowing just six earned runs en route to a 10-3 record.
As a high school senior at Sigourney High in Sigourney, Iowa, Christner earned Class 1A first-team All-State honors. She fanned 390 hitters and compiled a 32-4 record. Christner also was strong at the plate, hitting .395 with 19 doubles and three home runs.
She was named 2001 Softball Player of the Year by the Ottumwa Courrier.
Christner is the third member of the 2002-03 recruiting class that includes freshman catcher Elizabeth Peterson and freshman pitcher Kathleen Joosten.
