Telecast a quest for truth, knowledge and values

The question, “What does it mean to be human?” will be discussed today in a live nationwide telecast of a conference at Harvard University.

The MSU community can view the telecast, “The Quest for Truth, Knowledge and Values in Science and Religion,” from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Wisconsin Room of the Union.

Jane Goodall, a naturalist who is famous for her work with apes, will begin the conference.

Other speakers and panelists include Paul Davies, physicist and author from Imperial College London; Arthur Peacocke, a physical biochemistry and theology professor from Oxford University ; and Praveen Chaudhari, researcher at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.

The campus showing is sponsored by University Lutheran Church, the Center for Ethics and Humanities in the Life Sciences, the Lyman Briggs School and the Department of Religious Studies.
