Administration seeks student input on future look of campus

The MSU community will have a chance to look into the future of the campus at 2020 Vision forums held today and Wednesday.

Students will have an opportunity to ask questions and give input to the 2020 Vision work team before final plans are sent to the MSU Board of Trustees for final approval.

The meetings will be held at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. today in 1345 Engineering Building, and 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Parlors A and B of the Union.

“The administration and the Board of Trustees want to hear students’ perspectives because they are the ones involved on campus with their bikes, Rollerblades and no parking signs. We are going to listen,” Trustee Dee Cook said.

Cook said she expects the board to review the plan for approval by the end of the year.

“The project will have an enormous impact on the preservation of campus,” she said.

Jeff Kacos, work team co-chairman and director of Campus Park and Planning, said the forums will open with a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the plans and then allow time for questions and comments.

Maps and information will be available for the public to review.
