Men dont honor penises with week

I think the frequency with which I see the word “vagina” steadily increases each year. Every time I open the paper, I get to see something glorifying women and how wonderful they are.

Funny how there’s never anything announcing the merit of men, probably because present-day society has subscribed wholesale to the belief that men aren’t worth anything but what they can provide women with.

Men are being painted with a brush made out of female pubic hair that colors them as rapists, deadbeat dads and just about any and every negative thing associated with getting the Y chromosome.

Can you think of any examples when men are put in a positive light, other than when they’ve declared themselves proponents of the feminist cause or denounced their gender for the sake of the increasingly important acceptance of women?

Today, it’s better to be emasculated and prostrate yourself before a woman than it is to take some pride in your own gender. Women are entitled to be proud, and are endlessly praised for their greatness. From all the press I’ve read - if it were my only resource for what to think - I’d believe women were incapable of wrongdoing.

If I made a statement asserting the greatness of men, the power of the penis or something absurd like that, I’d be branded as the chauvinist Michael Bochenek has been (“Rape accusation is very serious,” SN 2/22). And I even wrote the word “absurd,” as though taking pride in my penis is any more ridiculous than girls putting on a play about their vaginas.

It seems people would have me believe that because bad things have happened to women at the hands of some men: That all men deserve to be deprecated, emasculated and supplicated to the whims of womanly wiles.

In this world of assessing personal blame rather than making sweeping generalizations and stereotypes, every group has been included except men. It’s still all right to categorize men as the ravenous beasts that prey upon poor defenseless women, and I wonder why that is, especially when women want to be viewed as powerful masters of their own destiny.

The inconsistencies that surround the gender issues in our society are things that need to be dealt with, not suppressed or ignored simply because the female gender is on an ego trip.

Men are forced to hang their heads in shame because of what hangs between their legs for fear of being branded a chauvinist or misogynist. I’m sick of the hypocrisy.
