Were really excited, said Rusty Schisler, managing editor of events for the journal. This is the first time were spearheading a big two-day event like this.
Schisler said special care was put into picking the speakers.
Weve tried to get a good spread from around the world and around the country, he said.
Among the presenters speaking at the symposium are trade and legal government officials from across the globe.
Catherine Ives, director of the Agricultural Biotechnology Support Project at MSUs Institute of International Agriculture, will be presenting Friday morning.
She said the symposium will be a learning experience.
Im looking forward to learning a few things, she said. The WTO agreements are not something that I know much about, so Im looking forward to increasing my knowledge base.
