The State News strikes again.
I read in Wednesdays State News that Ruth Hubbard would be visiting MSUs campus to give the McPherson Professorship lecture on How the Genome Became the Book of Life Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium (Harvard biology professor to speak in lecture series, SN 11/15). I was looking forward to attending the lecture Thursday to hear what Hubbard had to say.
You can imagine my surprise to read Lecturer speaks of DNA complexity (SN 11/16) headlined on the front page of The State News Thursday over an article describing Hubbards lecture at the Auditorium Wednesday night.
The incompetence of your reporters, shown here in their inability to get their facts straight, as well as that of the editors, shown here in their lack of attentiveness in checking for errors and upholding high journalistic standards for your paper, is becoming both obvious and irritating. Perhaps this is just as well, as it places some of your papers other reporting and opinions in their proper light.
