Let the renter beware of housing

For all those who are apartment hunting right now - I suggest that you make a strong attempt at avoiding the DTN Management group. It cares little of its renters. Unfortunately, I happen to be one of those renters.

I recently had to take my vehicle home to have the brakes replaced. So for the week, I needed to have a temporary vehicle sit in the parking lot, which I am supposed to be allowed to park in. I arrived here too late to get a temporary permit - later to find out they wouldn’t have given me one anyway. At around 3 a.m. one morning my Blazer was towed. The resident manager had called in and had it towed - but neglected the other two vehicles illegally parked out there. When I called the management office they just told me that I wouldn’t have been allowed to have a temporary permit anyway, it’s not their problem and they do not have any way of helping me.

I don’t have the $131 I need to get my vehicle out, and I’ve been calling friends and family to borrow the money. When I tried to talk to the woman who runs the office, they took my number and did not return my call. This may sound like I’m whining, but it’s ridiculous that they pick and choose who is going to get towed, and I actually live here, pay my rent on time every month and should be allowed one day to park in the lot without such a fee.

So pick a company to rent from that might actually be more concerned about making compromises so that you can return to school, than if you spend a day in the lot with a different vehicle.
