With all the discussion of presidential candidates in The State News during the past few days, I think it is worth mentioning a third-party presidential candidate who has not been the subject of much media attention - Howard Phillips of the Constitution Party.

Phillips is the only 100 percent pro-life candidate on the ballot. Phillips is the only candidate who has vowed to defend our constitutional liberties by only appointing Supreme Court justices who will staunchly defend them from activist judges who wish to use the bench to legislate and invoke social change.

Phillips, unlike Ralph Nader and many other third-party candidates, has experience in government. He is a principled man with principled positions and is certainly worthy of all students’ considerations.
