Winter weather advisory in effect for East Lansing

A winter weather advisory is currently in effect for East Lansing until Tuesday at 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.  

The high this afternoon is 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Tonight, there will be a steady temperature around 21 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. 

According to the National Weather Service, there is a projected 2 to 5 inches of additional snow overnight and winds from the west will be gusting to 30 mph. The wind chill is expected near 0 degrees by Tuesday morning. 

On Tuesday, the high will be near 24 degrees, with gusts as high as 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent. 

Tuesday night, the low will be about 15 degrees, with blowing snow before 8 p.m. and a chance of snow showers after 8 p.m. Wind chill values will be as low as 0 degrees.
