MSUFCU to expand with new East Lansing building

November 20, 2014

MSU Federal Credit Union, or MSUFCU, will expand its campus in East Lansing with the addition of a new administrative building.

MSUFCU Executive Vice President April Clobes said the new addition is because of the rapid growth of the company in the last years.

"Our growth of new members means that we need to add employees and the current (building) that we have will be out of space for our growth in about two years," Clobes said. "So we have to project beyond that and know that we'll need an additional building to support the employee growth that we'll have."

The 186,350 square feet three-floors building is expected to accommodate 564 employees.

"We hire new positions about 60 -70 per year and,if we keep adding at that rate, we'll definitely make that building for that 10 year projection," Clobes said.

The construction of the project is still for review and approval of the East Lansing City Council, is expected to start in June of 2015, Clobes said. MSUFCU expects to open the building in 2017.
