MSU men's basketball head coach Tom Izzo successfully underwent hernia surgery early Wednesday morning, according to a statement from the university.
The operation was performed at McClaren Greater Lansing by Dr. Troy Ferguson.

Izzo is expected back in the office later this week. The team will have midnight madness festivities at the Breslin Student Events Center on Oct. 24 and will open their season on Nov. 3 with an exhibition game against The Master's College in East Lansing.
