Update, 11:15 a.m.

Court records have confirmed NBA player Jeffery Matthew Taylor was charged with assaulting a female MSU student.

According to court records, Taylor and the victim "had a dating relationship."

Taylor was also charged with the assault of a male employee at the Marriott. The alleged victim's LinkedIn profile lists his position as "head of security."

He also issued an initial plea of not guilty, according to the documents. His pre-trial is set for Oct. 8.

Taylor was arraigned in East Lansing 54-B District Court Thursday on charges relating to a domestic assault taking place at the East Lansing Marriott at University Place at around 1 a.m Thursday morning.

Taylor, a Charlotte Hornets forward, was formally charged with one count of domestic assault, one count of assault and battery and one count of malicious destruction of property. His bond was set at $5,000.

Despite reports that Taylor had been arrested again on Michigan Ave. Friday morning, Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings III said there was not a second arrest.

Dunnings said he couldn’t go into detail about the destruction made to the property, but said there was $200 to $1000 worth of damage. He wouldn’t comment on the assault either.

A native of Norrkoping, Sweden, Taylor attended Vanderbilt from 2008-12 and was drafted 31st overall by the Hornets in 2012. He played only 21 games last season due to a torn right Achilles tendon and averaged eight points and 2.3 rebounds per game.

It's not clear as of yet exactly why Taylor was in East Lansing.

"I think he was here to visit somebody,” Dunnings said.
