Before Spartan dreams were coming true at the Rose Bowl, the Tournament of Roses parade set out to make “Dreams Come True,” as their theme to commemorate 125 years of the event in Pasadena, Calif.

The 5.5-mile long parade, starting early morning before the game on Jan. 1, featured about 91 floats, performance acts and marching bands, including the Spartan and Stanford marching bands. Floats were decorated with ornate floral arrangements and many participants within the parade were dressed in costumes from flapper wear to Indonesian cultural dress.

An estimated 700,000 attended the parade, with many camping out the night beforehand to secure a good viewing spot for the pageantry.
