Even with The Eras Tour featuring a marathon 44 songs, spanning nine eras, over the course of 180-minute shows performed two nights in a row, members of MSU's Taylor Swift Club were ‘Ready for It’ and left wanting more of Taylor Swift’s performance in Detroit. Swift brought the highly anticipated tour to Ford Field on June 9 and June 10, attracting a combined 130,000 concertgoers.

Michigan State University recently launched the Youth Equity Project, or YEP, a collective effort to reduce disparities and advance the overall well-being of marginalized youth and families through community-driven research. Working in Lansing, Flint and Detroit, YEP is overseen by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies in the MSU College of Social Science.

Michigan State University announced its plan for the distribution of the Spartan Strong Fund, which was created following the Feb. 13 shooting on MSU's campus. The $2 million generated by the fund’s 4,200 donors will go to people directly impacted by the event.

The family of Phat Nguyen, a 21-year-old Michigan State business student who died in 2021 during a Pi Alpha Phi pledging event, is suing eighteen individuals in pursuant of the Michigan Wrongful Death Act. The Nguyen family claims that the negligence of the named defendants at the party resulted in his death, according to the complaint, which set forth the family’s allegations in the lawsuit.

In a press conference Thursday Morning, Van Andel Arena, Michigan State Hockey and Michigan Tech Hockey announced a four-year deal to keep the Great Lakes Invitational Tournament in Grand Rapids through 2026.After 55 years in Detroit, the tournament took place in Grand Rapids for the first time in 2022."Van Andel Arena is excited to host the Great Lakes Invitational tournament for the next four years," ASM Global Regional General Manager for Van Andel Arena Richard MacKeigan said. "We hope to build on the success of last year's event to create an annual tradition for the Grand Rapids community and hockey fans from all over the state and the country."Michigan Tech Vice President for Athletics & Recreation Suzanne Sanregret also announced the participating teams through the end of the deal with Van Andel, as well as the dates for the 2023 tournament.
