This January, “Glee” will welcome “American Idol” star Jessica Sanchez to the cast with a recurring guest role. Sanchez, who was the runner-up in the most recent season of “American Idol,” met with “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy and was asked to shoot episodes in January to premiere on television in the spring.

Hours before the doors of the Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, Mich., were scheduled to open Sunday, dozens of hard-core Owl City fans began lining up outside on Saginaw Street. Despite the pouring rain and cold temperatures, fans, including myself, came to see Adam Young take the stage in the last night of his U.S. tour. After seeing Owl City play at the Fillmore Detroit last summer, I had high expectations for the performance. My expectations were greatly exceeded in what I will now refer to as “the best concert I have ever been to.”

The comfort of the dilapidated couch housed in the brick basement of Mac’s Bar, 2700 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing, was revived by the experimental rockers of Pleasant Drive. The couch managed to fit the four grown men while they kicked back before their return performance at the second Mac’s Mitten Jam.
