Former U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics coach John Geddert died by suicide Thursday after being charged with 24 counts of human trafficking, forced labor, one count of first-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree sexual assault, racketeering and lying to a police officer. "My office has been notified that the body of John Geddert was found late this afternoon after taking his own life," Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said in a statement. "This is a tragic end to a tragic story for everyone involved." Michigan State Police said in a Tweet that Geddert’s body was found at a rest area on I-96 in Clinton County at 3:24 p.m. He was scheduled to be arraigned at 2:15 p.m.

Twistars USA Gymnastics Club announced on their Facebook page that the gymnastics club where Larry Nassar treated young gymnasts in mid-Michigan for years has been sold to new owners. Nassar, a former MSU doctor and convicted sex abuser worked at the club in addition to his work at MSU.

In 2004 Brianne Randall-Gay saw Larry Nassar for back pain. During the appointment Nassar touched the then 17-year-old's breasts and genitals. Randall’s parents reported Nassar to Meridian Township Police and the case was dismissed by police Detective Andrew McCready. Per Randall's request, Meridian Township hired Kenneth Ouellette Investigations LLC to conduct an investigation into the Meridian Township Police Department's handling of her case.
