Tressel’s brother coaches here, he could put forth the lesson that Jim had in holding back a little with Beanie Wells. I know he’s our most important player, but we need to have him all season. I agree on the kickoffs and think that it inevitably will wear him down. Especially getting into the first series when he has to be somewhat winded from returning the kick. However, the coaches were extremely smart in letting the guy who was used to carrying the ball in the rain, stay in the game. It would have been terribly bad to let a new guy come in and fumble away. His future in the NFL is probably more assured if he works more and is seen more. Jim Tressel held Beanie Wells becuase he was injured, not because he was saving him for the NFL.
