In his less than two years at the helm of the MSU football program, Mark Dantonio has said two characteristics he wanted to see his football team embody are toughness and overcoming adversity.

How about another characteristic of Ringer: overworked. Please, PLEASE Coach D, find another guy to do the kickoff returns…and hopefully when it is not raining, we can give some of those hand-offs to our other backs (Ringer has 25 more carries than anyone in college football…that’s amazing and amazingly stupid all at once…I know he’s by far our best player, but is anyone (Coach D are you listening) in our program considering his future in the NFL? Tressel’s brother coaches here, he could put forth the lesson that Jim had in holding back a little with Beanie Wells. I know he’s our most important player, but we need to have him all season.

Maybe Ringer is getting more carries so Hoyer can’t throw the game away.

I’d rather have Ringer carrying 30-40 times a game than Hoyer throwing 30-40 times.

Hoyer’s top 3 targets: Dell, the turf, and defensive backs

Jason,

Maybe you dont remember the Illinois game (Jeff George was the qb)
,when they recovered a fumble as we were trying to run out the clock and we lost that game.

I agree on the kickoffs and think that it inevitably will wear him down. Especially getting into the first series when he has to be somewhat winded from returning the kick. However, the coaches were extremely smart in letting the guy who was used to carrying the ball in the rain, stay in the game. It would have been terribly bad to let a new guy come in and fumble away.
For more recent memories of blown games, look back to ND two years ago.

Great game by the team and the coaches versus FAU.

	Go Green!

Ringer may be a tad overworked, but I guess its ok if he does the kickoff returns. That Ringer has 25 more carries than anyone in college football is amazing and so -, I was wrong – pretty astute as well – he is after all, by far our best player. His future in the NFL is probably more assured if he works more and is seen more. Jim Tressel held Beanie Wells becuase he was injured, not because he was saving him for the NFL. Ringer is our most important player, and we need to have him run the ball 50-60/game all season.
