E.L. police use Web site to help find those involved in Cedar Fest

Investigations are still underway for the East Lansing Police Department regarding last month’s Cedar Fest.

Since the launch of the ELPD Cedar Fest Web site, www.cityofeastlansing.com/cedarfest, 11 suspects have been positively identified, according to the ELPD. The ELPD received more than 40 tips on possible suspects, including photographs and a video.

Eight warrants have been issued for the identified suspects and three cases are under review, according to the ELPD. They are still seeking tips on suspects.

The ELPD estimates the damages from Cedar Fest to be more than $50,000. According to the ELPD, the East Lansing Fire Department provided medical treatment to 33 patients injured from riot-related incidents.

The ELPD will be requesting the damage costs be split among individuals who were convicted of riot-related charges.

Great, here we go. Here comes all the convictions on people who were just standing around or walking to and from somewhere. Yay, this’ll work great…......

I’m confused on how it cost 50,00 dollars. I thought there was an uprooted stop sign and some dumpsters on fire. Anyone know?

You also have to consider the cost of having other departments supply equipment, man power, first aid and other services while ELPD was bogged down.
