Moonlight Madness Shopping Spree

Moonlight Madness provides a great opportunity to hop onto a FREE CATA (Capitol Area Transit Authority) bus to local Meijer stores. You don’t have to spend money to join in the fun with the free food, entertainment and give-aways. However, many students complete their residence hall room decorating with their roommates, buy last minute school supplies, stock-up on snacks, or purchase a donation for the “Fill the Bus” project. Buses begin loading at 8:00 p.m. from designated bus stops across campus. The last pickup bus departs campus at 11:15 p.m. FREE return rides on CATA continue until the event ends at 12:00 midnight.

Fall Welcome Spartan Spectacular

You are strongly encouraged to join us for the "Fall Welcome Spartan Spectacular" event showcasing some of our traditional programs with a touch of a few new and spectacular components. Spartan Spectacular will kick-off with a Fall Welcome Cook-out. This will be followed by our traditional Sparticipation event which will highlight over 400 student organizations. Next up will be the biggest Pep Rally in the “Big Ten”, the Spartan Spirit event. Spartan Spirit will feature greetings by campus VIP’s including President Simon, numerous athletic coaches, and the MSU homecoming court. MSU’s own magnificent MSU Marching band will be on hand as well, to provide lots of traditional MSU songs that will let you know you are truly at “the school known to all”! We will close out the evening with a spectacular Spartan laser show. Don’t miss this spectacular Spartan event that will officially start your academic career.

Cultural Transitions Student Welcome Reception/Spartan Remix

Spartan Remix is a cultural celebration. This unique event of MUSIC, ART, and CULTURE truly captures the essence of collaboration and interculturalism by creating a space for the MSU community to come together in celebration and education of diverse communities.

This event is led by student organizations from CORES-Council of Racial and Ethnic Students (i.e. BSA/Black Student Alliance, NAISO/North American Indigenous Student Organization, APASO/Asian Pacific American Student Organization, and CRU/Culturas de las Razas Unidas), the Coalition of LBGTA/Lesbian-Bi-sexual- Gay-Transgender-Allies, ISA/International Student Association, and CIC/Campus Interfaith Council along with many diverse multicultural organizations at MSU and coordinated by the Office of Cultural & Academic Transitions.
