Big Ten announces MSU 2018-19 home, away opponents

The Big Ten announced the men's basketball team's opponents for their home and away matchup's Thursday afternoon. 

The Big Ten will expand to a 20-game conference schedule at the start of the 2018-19 season as each team will face seven opponents, both home and away. 

MSU will play Maryland, Minnesota and Northwestern at home and Illinois, Penn State and Wisconsin on the road.

The Spartans will take on Indiana, Iowa, University of Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State University, Purdue and Rutgers at home and on the road.

The Spartans have also been invited to the Champions Classic, where they will take on Kansas on Nov. 6. MSU has also been invited to the 18th Annual Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational in Las Vegas,  which includes North Carolina, Texas and UCLA, from Nov. 22-23.

The Spartans concluded the 2017-18 season with an overall record at 30-5 and captured the Big Ten Regular Season Championship. MSU fell to U-M in the Big Ten Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to Syracuse
