MSU crime log: 1st degree criminal sex conduct and other updates

A first-degree criminal sexual conduct was reported at Akers Hall on Feb. 4, according to the Clery Crime and Fire Log.

The assault was reported to MSU police the same day. A first-degree assault involves sexual penetration and is a felony, according to Michigan Penal Code

A fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct was reported to MSU police on Feb. 7. The alleged incident occurred on May 29, 2016, at Rather Hall, according to the crime log.

A third-degree criminal sexual conduct allegedly occurred at 3 a.m. Feb. 17 at Wilson Hall. It was reported to MSU police the same day.

"They are all open and ongoing investigations and we're using all the appropriate police resources to investigate these incidents," MSU police Capt. Doug Monette said. "At this time, don't feel that there's any threat to the community, but we're still investigating because we take these crimes very seriously and investigate them to the fullest."
