MSU crawls up to No. 16 in College Football Playoff rankings

Following a 17-7 win over Maryland on Senior Day, MSU has inched up the College Football Playoff rankings. The Spartans are now No. 16 in the poll, up from No. 17 last week.

The Spartans are also No. 21 this week in the AP poll, No. 22 in the Coaches poll.

Elsewhere, No. 5 Wisconsin, No. 9 Ohio State and No. 10 Penn State round out the top-10 for the Big Ten. No. 22 Northwestern is also ranked, while Michigan fell out of the poll after its loss last week to Wisconsin.

MSU, now 8-3 on the year, have a chance to flip its 3-9 record from last year to 9-3. The Spartans play Rutgers in New Jersey. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
