MSU alert: Person carrying handgun reported on campus

MSUPD sent out an alert Friday night that a person carrying a hand gun on MSU's campus was reported near the Kellogg Center at 11:15 p.m. 

On Saturday, MSUPD provided an update to the situation, stating two people, one of which carried the gun, were in an altercation with two other people at the Kellogg Center on Harrison Road near Michigan Avenue. During this argument, the male subject exposed a handgun in the front of his waistband.

None of these subjects are identified at this time.

The incident is currently under investigation, MSUPD Capt. Doug Monette said.

MSUPD said in an update that the black male and a Hispanic female, both described as 20 years old, began walking southbound toward the Breslin Center after the altercation with two females.

At the time, MSU Madness was taking place at the Breslin Center.

MSUPD describe the male as "Black Male approx. 20 years old. He is tall with a thin build, wearing shorts and a green or gray T Shirt, and a black and white zip up sweatshirt. His hair was in small twists or braids." 

MSUPD also describe the woman walking south as "A Hispanic female...She is described as a medium build wearing a silver coat with silver writing on it, approx. 20 years old."
