Motion filed against Nassar to add 27th plaintiff

February 3, 2017

A motion filed in Grand Rapids on Friday aims to add a 27th plaintiff to the federal court case against former MSU employee Larry Nassar.

The new plaintiff, identified as Jane A.P. Doe, was a gymnast referred to Nassar through Twistars, a gymnastics club in Lansing. Twistars is also a defendant in the lawsuit.

The motion alleges that Nassar sexually abused Jane A.P. Doe by digitally penetrating her "under the guise of treatment" at his home office in Holt. She was a minor at the time of the alleged abuse.

Nassar's federal trial before a jury begins on Feb. 21.
