MSU hockey announced Tuesday evening that visitation and funeral services for former MSU hockey coach and athletic director Ron Mason are open to public.

Visitation is being held at Munn Ice Arena beginning at 11 a.m. on June 16 with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m.

Those looking to attend can park at Parking Ramp 5 behind the Communication Arts and Sciences building on campus. A shuttle to and from Munn Ice Arena and the parking ramp will be available and will run from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mason, 76, who died in the early morning hours on Monday from a heart attack served at the helm of the MSU hockey bench for 23 seasons.

A college hockey coach for 36 years he amassed two national championships - including one at MSU in 1986. When he retired in 2002, his 924 wins were the most all time in college hockey.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Ron Mason Hockey Endowment Fund for Men’s Varsity Ice Hockey at Michigan State University or the Ron Mason Fund at Sparrow Hospital
