MSU Greenline to host dodgeball fundraiser for Flint

February 23, 2016

Friday from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., MSU Greenline will be putting on a dodgeball fundraising tournament to raise money for the MSU Pediatric Public Health Fund. The fund is designed to aid in research on the effects of Flint's lead water poisoning on the city's children and long term solutions to help them cope.

The event costs $3 to attend as a spectator and $6 to play on a dodgeball team and will take place in the turf mat room on the ground floor of IM-West. As part of the Full Court Support initiative, Greenline hosts seasonal tournaments to raise support and money for a cause of their choice.

This year's decision to support the MSU Pediatric Public Health Fund was a rather unanimous one, according to external philanthropy manager Michael Gaitan.

"We need to focus more on the long term health benefits of it," Gaitan said.

For those students that wish to compete in the tournament, they can e-mail Gaitan at gaitanfl@uadv.msu.edu to have a team registered. Teams must have eight players.

Donations to Greenline's fund can be made here.
