L.A. Clippers officially sign Branden Dawson

July 15, 2015

The Los Angeles Clippers announced today that they have officially signed rookie forward Branden Dawson, the details of the contract have not yet been announced.

Dawson was drafted 56th overall in last month’s NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans and was traded to the Clippers that night in exchange for cash.

Dawson, 22, played in four of five Orlando Summer League games for the Clippers, averaging 12.8 points and 10.3 rebounds in just over 25 minutes per game. Dawson posted double-doubles in three of his four games as well as finishing second in the league in rebounds.

In his final season with the Spartans he averaged 11.9 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks, while not missing any of the Spartan’s 35 games, on their way to the Final Four. His performance earned him Second-Team All-Big-Ten honors.
