“I have two (heroes). I would have to say my dad. He’s like Iron Man. He just worked his butt off to support our family of five kids. He still goes out and runs like 10 miles and can bench press more than me, which is sick because he’s in his 60s. He’s phenomenal. He’s a role model of hard work and caring for his family. ...As a pastor, Jesus. He exemplifies everything. He’s the perfect human, and I think his message has been transforming in my life.”

-Richard Shaull, Pastor at Oasis East Lansing Church, 22 years old, Lansing resident

Fact: Shaull is Associate Pastor at Oasis East Lansing Church and among one of the groups apart of the MSU prayer movement “The Furnace” at The Prayer Room on Grand River.

His group with his fellow pastors is called Spartan Oasis.
