Central Michigan rappers challenge other Michigan universities in a hip-hop competition

February 24, 2015

Central Michigan University rappers are challenging six different universities to their Hip Hop Cypher series, coming up next month. Challenged universities include Michigan State, University of Michigan, Grand Valley State, Western Michigan, Wayne State and Ferris State. Youtube user "Ace TheMan" posted the challenge on February 21.

The unidentified man in the video jokingly poked fun at each university as he introduced the challenge, referring to MSU as "Spartan Fools" and Western as "weak."

"You guys may think you dominate in sports. You got a couple things here and there," he said. "But when it comes to hip-hop, CMU is on. Where are y'all at?"

The man clarified that there was no "beef" associated with the challenge. The aim of the challenge, he said, is to "set Michigan ablaze in like a hip-hop type of way."

The video ends with an example of the raps CMU is prepared to dish out.
