Men's basketball game at Rutgers could be canceled due to severe weather on Tuesday

January 26, 2015

MSU men's basketball is scheduled to visit Rutgers for a 9 p.m. game on Tuesday but with Winter Storm Juno brewing along the East Coast, the contest could be in jeopardy.

The Weather Channel reports that the snowstorm could bring more than two feet of snow to parts of the coastal Mid-Atlantic to New England. Over 3,500 flights in the U.S. have already been canceled for Monday and Tuesday.

Rutgers has canceled classes through 1 p.m. Tuesday and has ordered that only "essential service employees" are to remain at work during what the university has deemed as a Level 4 Weather Emergency.

There is no word yet on whether or not tomorrow night's game will be played, but according to the university, a status update will be released Tuesday after 8:30 a.m.
