Annual Zombie Run will take place Saturday

October 31, 2014

At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, MSU students can expect to see hordes of zombies in front of Conrad Hall.

The annual Zombie Run is back. It was created by the Broad China Business Society (BCBS), a student-run organization that aims to promote awareness of the global business environment among students.

BCBS member and food industry management junior Zachary Demko is the director for the Zombie Run. He said BCBS wanted a fun way to raise money for the group and came up with the idea for a zombie-themed run because the event was happening the day after Halloween.

Demko said they decided on the theme before they realized how popular zombies were.

“Personally, I thought it was a very marketable strategy just because I think a lot of people think it’s fun to paint your face, wear tattered clothing and run wildly throughout campus,” Demko said.

There will be Halloween-themed games, music and face painting. Afterwards, participants can run, walk, limp or crawl across MSU’s campus in the 5K race.

“I think people will be a lot more excited for it next year after seeing zombies running through campus this year,” Demko said.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. at Conrad Hall.
