Fire displaces residents of Phoenix co-op
Between 20-30 students were displaced early Wednesday morning after a fire ripped through their housing cooperative, East Lansing police confirmed.
The fire began around 3 a.m. on the second floor of the Phoenix cooperative house, 239 Oakhill Ave., and left its occupants without homes for the time being.
Phoenix is the largest house in MSU’s student housing cooperative, featuring 29 available spots.
There are no reported injuries from the fire, East Lansing police Capt. Jeff Murphy said. He said arson is not suspected.
The incident remains under investigation.
