Women's basketball routs Grand Valley State 83-36

November 4, 2012

The MSU women’s basketball team never trailed, as they rolled over Grand Valley State, 83-36 in its final exhibition game.

There were six Spartans in double figures, and sophomore center Jasmine Hines led them with 16 points and eight rebounds. Senior guard Jasmine Thomas (15 points, five assists) and junior forward Annalise Pickrel (12 points, six rebounds) also were among the strong Spartan performers.

MSU also got 15 key minutes from freshman guard Mariah Harris, who recorded five points and dished out three assists.

Briauna Taylor led GVSU with nine points and two assists.

With questions regarding their offensive production after many key injuries, the Spartans lit it up from the floor hitting 32 of their 56 shots and making nine of their 16 tries from beyond the arc.

The next time MSU takes the court will be next Sunday at 2 p.m. against UT Arlington in their first game of the regular season at Breslin Center.
