Susan Schmidt, a Democratic candidate for the 69th District House seat, received the endorsement of MSU Trustee Chairman Joel Ferguson on Tuesday.
“As a veteran educator with 30 years of classroom experience, Susan understands the importance of a quality education,” Ferguson said in a statement.
Both Democratic candidates vying for the seat have been gathering endorsements from all corners of the MSU community.
Last week, former East Lansing Mayor Sam Singh received ASMSU’s lifetime achievement award and an endorsement from the CATA workers’ union. He plans to hold a public event Tuesday at Lansing Community College to kick off his candidacy.
